Diverting Water
The “Diverting Water Series ” began after a trip to Ireland last year, where I saw a huge blue hose/tube snaking through a field, diverting water into a wooded area on the edge of the field. The gushing water from the large hose created a fast moving creek through the trees. It was a striking image. I didn’t make sketches, or take photos, but I’ve tried to re-create the image. Now the snaking tube has taken on a life of its own, where it can represent other ideas. The act of diverting water can be a metaphor for many things.
